Epistaxis! The clinical word for a nose bleed. On Monday evening whilst watching snooker I blew my nose - and the flood gates opened! With a box of tissues I was unable to staunch the bleeding, which was massive and prolonged. 15 minutes later, with a tissue stuffed up my nose, I managed to call NHS111. Quite a morning! I was stood in the bathroom at around 8:15am having just had a wash when I could feel my nose running - whoosh - a full on nose bleed. It was a real gusher! Sat on the bog at 4:30am and suddenly without warning I suffered a fairly heavy nose bleed. I managed to quickly grab some toilet paper to staunch the flow, which lasted about ten minutes.
